Sales Teams - Block Lists & Indexing
Posted by Dave Zulu, Last modified by Dave Zulu on 13 August 2016 09:44 PM

Using Zulu eDM for Sales team campaign follow ups is the most flexible on the market today. There are 2 key functions that you should be aware of:

  1. Indexing
  2. Block Lists

Lets use this example: You have a campaign (First Campaign) that you want to send out to 3 groups (Group1, 2 & 3). The total number of subscribers of the 3 groups is 17,000. However you do not know if there are duplicates in the groups. You could send to the all three groups and the system will handle the duplicates however sending 17,000 emails is just overwhelming as the follow-ups for your sales team is just to great.

Best practice suggests that sending a small number to each group so that the sales team can follow-up opens and click throughs works best. But how do you avoid the duplicates.

Firstly you need to set the Index for the campaign so that only 500 recipients are sent the email. Use the campaign settings option and "Set Partial List Send Limit" - Index = 0 is the first record in the database. The example below will send 501 emails to the gorup set in the the recipiient list.

So if Group 1 has 10,000 contacts you would need to send 20 campaigns (20 days usually) to complete the campaign sending to Group 1.

To avoid duplication for this process when sending to Group 2, simply us the Block List funciton when selecting recipients and add Group 1 to the block list. This will mean that any subscriber in both lists will only get the campaign once.

We of course recommend using one of our CRM integration partners to track lead development.
