To improve Open Rate Tracking

To improve the accuracy of your open rate tracking you may want to look at actioning some of these items:

  • 1. Request your subscribers to add you (and your sender email address) to their address book.
  • 2. Provide instructions in their sign up confirmation email to add you to their address book and to update their email settings to automatically display images
  • 3. You may notice that you have more accurate open reporting if you send a campaign with a high image to text ratio. Because subscribers need to download the images to read the content it can give you a more accurate idea of who is opening your campaigns.
  • 4. The negative of this is that campaigns with a high image to text ratio do tend to be considered spam more often than campaigns with a more even ration of image to text. We don't advise sending campaigns with a high image to text ratio as it is not best practice.
