When using the Advanced search feature on the Search and Segment Contacts page you can search on whether the search result is to contain, not contain, equal or not equal a particular search term that you enter.

Using simp as an example search term,
  1. Contains : Any values found to contain the string simp will be displayed - eg. simple, simplistic
  2. Not Contains : Any values that do not contain the string simp will be displayed - eg. easy, uncomplicated
  3. Equals : Any values that matches simp will be displayed - eg. simp, Simp
  4. Not Equals : Any values that do not match simp will be displayed - eg. simple, simplistic, easy, uncomplicated
